Well, I’m here in chilly/chilli Chengdu, China for the World Cyber Games Grand Finals 2009. Chilly cos it’s getting colder, especially with the rain, and Chilli, cos pretty much every food dish I eat is full of chillis or the “ma2 la4″. Just had hotpot this evening and decided not to go out for drinks [...] Yes, been procrastinating, but the last week has been rather hectic, with my organisation’s workplan (which went very well). I’m also really gonna change my blog design. Sucks to be a reader of my blog methinks! On Wednesday, I attended a presentation by Lev Manovich on “How To Track Global Digital Culture“, an event held in conjunction with the International Symposium on Electronic Art 2008.The blurb for the event was as follows: ”The exponential growth of a number of both non-professional and professional media producers over the last decade has created a fundamentally new cultural [...] This was actually a topic that I suggested and discussed with Corn for the March Conversations (my dept meeting that has now taken up an adapted Open Space Technology format). However, I think that although he’s the right guy to discuss it with, it wouldn’t be a great Conversations topic because the topic is quite [...] Here’s some highlights from the Nexus Workplan Seminar 08, held on 25 Jan 08 at the Violet Room, The Chevrons.
